Australia and New Zealand

MEND is running Australian and New Zealand programs in close to 50 community locations each school term

Fully adapted programs are available across Australia and NZ
We are currently delivering MEND 7-13 and MEND 2-4 programs across Australia. MEND 7-13 programs are currently running successfully in New Zealand and further adaptations are underway for Maori communities in partnership with local health organisations.

What else are we doing in Australia?

  • We are delivering MEND 7-13 family programs nationally

  • In NSW we are delivering an additional 10-week physical activity program for all children who graduate from a MEND 7-13 family program.

  • Working with the Queensland Aboriginal and Islander Health Centre (QAIHC), we’re delivering MEND 7-13 and MEND 2-4 in Indigenous communities.

  • We’re training health professionals across Australia. This includes rolling out our childhood obesity awareness seminar.

  • We’re delivering the first Randomised Control Trial (RCT) of the MEND 2-4 with Deakin University and the World Health Organisation Collaborating Centre for Obesity Prevention.
