MEND welcomes referrals from GPs, school nurses and other health professionals to signpost children and families to the MEND 7-13 or MEND 2-4 programs.

What MUST happen before a child is referred to MEND?
Before making a referral, the health professional must talk to the child’s parent or main carer to:

  • discuss the MEND program they wish to refer to

  • make sure they agree to their child being referred to MEND

  • inform them that MEND will contact them by phone to talk through the next steps.

If a referral is made by a health professional other than a GP, we will contact the family GP to inform them of the referral being made.
